2026 Vizlib & Fiplana Roadmap: AI-Powered Analytics and Write Back Planning Without Leaving Qlik
Access NowIn the webinar John Teichman, insightsoftware’s Senior Product Manager of BI Solutions and Cody Riemenschneider, Solutions Engineering Director at insightsoftware, share their expertise and discuss what’s possible when your analytics and planning work together in one environment. Here are our top five takeaways, including updates and exciting new Vizlib and Fiplana features.
1. The Importance of Self Service
One major roadblock users have with their BI technology is IT bottlenecks. When users have no choice but to wait on IT or their provider to create the right dashboard for them, it runs the risk of delaying key decisions.
For power users who want full control over the data they see, self service gives users all the tools they need to explore data and make their own decisions quickly and without IT bottlenecks. And it’s in demand. According to a report by insightsoftware and Hanover Research, self-service analytics are of key importance for 86% of analytics buyers. Giving users access to self service features provides them with flexibility and autonomy while removing IT delays.
When users have questions, they may have to submit a ticket, wait for IT to build a new feature, and then deploy it in order to get even the simplest answers. Removing that bottleneck is vital to empowering users to get the answers they need without needing to involve IT.
2. New Vizlib Feature: Hidden Insights AI
One major challenge with business intelligence is the gap between data and actionable insights. Users have information and visually-rich dashboards at their fingertips, but struggle to find key information without exporting to Excel, waiting on developers, or missing key trends hidden in their filtered data.
To address the BI insight gap, we’ve introduced Vizlib Hidden Insights AI. An AI-powered Qlik extension, Hidden Insights AI gives users the ability to talk directly to their dashboard data using natural language. Vizlib Hidden Insights AI helps users uncover hidden insights within the Qlik data without needing to know what to look for ahead of time.
Clicking on any question with Hidden Insights AI can reveal insights within your data that filters might miss, compare multiple charts, and help users make connections between different data sets that might not be obvious while looking at them separately. The core of this is powerful technology that’s still user-friendly with low-code, no-code functionality that can help users get up and running quickly.

3. Statistical Process Control (SPC) Chart
Another webinar highlight is Vizlib’s Statistical Process Control (SPC) Chart. To provide organizations with sophisticated process monitoring capabilities, we’ve introduced this tool for tracking performance and stability over time.
This feature addresses the challenge of distinguishing between normal process variations and anomalies that require intervention. The SPC Chart enables users to quickly identify variations outside of the control range, showing trends and runs on data points that may indicate problems requiring attention. Currently in its early stages, the SPC chart is available in the Vizlib library.
4. Write Back Improvements
If users look at their forecast and see that their quarterly numbers are wrong, what can they do? Traditionally, they may have to export the data to Excel or go to another system to make corrections, then wait for the system to reload. When this happens, there’s a disconnect between the insight and the action.
Write back closes that loop by allowing users to take action right where and when the insight happened. For the past five years, Vizlib and Fiplana have been delivering production-ready write back to Qlik users. Recently, we’ve added write back table improvements have a visual indicator to let you know which values you just created so you can go back to it.
Additionally, we’ve added the ability to export to Excel and CSV directly into the component. With our new write back updates, you can transform Qlik from a place where you can look at data to a place where you directly work with data.
5. Fiplana Plan KPI
Hidden Insights AI and the SPC chart aren’t the only noteworthy updates for Vizlib and Fiplana. Another new feature we added is Fiplana Plan KPI. Previously, when users worked with percentages, there would be rounding errors because percentages were fixed. This led to numbers not rounding up correctly.
With Fiplana Plan KPI, users can now precisely configure total number of digits and digits after the decimal point to define exactly how decimal numbers are stored in the database. This flexibility ensures that planning data can be stored with the exact level of accuracy required for financial calculations, compliance requirements, or industry-specific standards.
The year ahead promises exciting developments for Qlik users. With features like Hidden Insights AI, write back improvements, and Fiplana Plan KPI, you can deliver accuracy and value to organizations of any size.
