As CFOs grapple with the inevitable complexity of economic recovery, they will need to decide what forecasting tools and techniques will give them the clarity, confidence, and agility to make difficult business decisions.
Most businesses rely on quarterly forecasts, often neglecting the compelling advantages of more advanced techniques such as rolling forecasts, scenario planning, and zero-based budgeting (ZBB). FSN’s research identifies that all of these techniques bring something valuable to decision-making, yet only 19 percent of organisations use rolling forecasts and just 4 percent deploy true scenario planning.
So the key question is how and when should organisations leverage these techniques and what are the pre-requisites for success?
In this 30-minute webinar Gary Simon, Chief Executive, FSN, will interview David Woodworth, CFO of insightsoftware, an acquisitive global software house and leader in financial and operational reporting, planning, and BI tools. David is an accomplished CFO and was previously CFO of Trilliant and M*Modal as well as an investment and operating advisor at Tidewater Equity Partners. David will be sharing how he is preparing for the challenge of forecasting as we enter a new era of recovery and growth.
